How the Extension Works

• V-read operates entirely within your browser

• Selected text fragments are stored locally on your device only
• No webpage content is transmitted to external servers

What We Don't Collect or Transmit

• We do NOT send webpage content to our servers
• We do NOT track your browsing history
• We do NOT collect location data
• We do NOT share your data with third parties
• We do NOT store your reading selections on our servers

Data Storage

• Authentication credentials managed securely by Firebase Authentication
• All reading fragments and progress stored locally in your browser
• Data remains on your device and is not synchronized or backed up to cloud servers

Permissions Explained

• Read and change website data: Required to display the reading overlay and mark text on pages you visit
• Storage: Saves your preferences and reading fragments locally
• Identity: Used for email-based authentication only

Your Rights

• Delete your account anytime
• Clear all local data by uninstalling the extension
• Your reading data stays on your device under your control
